Sebastian Maniscalco is one heck of a successful comedian whose career blew up in the 2000s. From open mics in bars & bowling alleys while working as a waiter, he remained passionate and went on to become massively popular as he began performing regular comedy nights in California. Now, he's one of the biggest legendary comics in the scene, hailed by The New York Times as the "hottest comic in America." Six specials to his name, he definitely has a knack for getting people to laugh.

Maniscalco's Wild Career

In 2005, the man began regular performances at The Comedy Store in California, marking the rapid start of his comedy takeover. With the likes of Bill Burr, Don Rickles, John Ritter, Johnny Carson, Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Brian Regan, and Andrew Dice Clay as his major influences, Maniscalco honed his skill and kept the fire up. Having done a half-hour for Comedy Central Presents and a slew of hour-long specials, he quickly gained a massive crowd of fans who got hooked on his comedy style. Observational humor, rants, and social commentaries, this man is one heck of a funny lad.

From "What's Wrong with People?", "Aren't You Embarrassed?," to his upcoming "It Ain't Right" which will be released via Hulu, he has dominated the scene with his signature "nostalgia" type of humor. Grounded in family experiences, he just reminds everyone of their Italian dad. It's a "Can you believe this?" type of humor, one that took him 20 years to develop, mostly through riffs raised in an old-school environment with an immigrant dad. The man says that comedy simply can't be learned, it's earned through experiences, honing skills, and observing absurdities you can cleverly shine a light on. 

"You don't become a bodybuilder the first day you start lifting weights. Same thing with comedy. You gotta flesh out your joke, your bit. You add and subtract. You see what works," he told Dolce Magazine.
